Manipur: BJP MLAs hold high-level meet in Thambal Sanglen on government formation amid crisis

As Manipur grapples with prolonged political instability, several BJP MLAs convened a high-level meeting late this evening at Thambal Sanglen, the party’s state headquarters, to discuss the roadmap for forming a popular government.

 

Amid the ongoing political crisis, the gathering is seen as a pivotal step toward reinforcing internal cohesion within the party and strategizing the re-establishment of a stable government in the northeastern state.

 

Among the key attendees were former Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh and senior BJP leaders including Karam Shyam, Heikham Dingo, Thounaojam Shyamkumar, Khongbantabam Ibomcha, Thokchom Satyabarta, Kongkham Robindro, Yumnam Khemchand, Sapam Ranjan, Sanasam Premchandra, Yumnam Radheshyam, Khumukcham Joykishan, RK Imo, Sapam Kujakeshor alias Keba, Khwairakpam Raghumani, Paonam Brojen, Ashab Uddin, Tongbram Robindro, and Th. Bishwajit.

 

Party sources confirmed that the deliberations primarily centered around reviewing the prevailing political climate in Manipur, evaluating party unity, and outlining future strategies to facilitate the formation of a popular, democratically elected government.

 

The move comes at a critical juncture for the BJP in Manipur, as calls for political resolution and grassroots governance continue to grow louder across the state.
