Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Northeast Coordinator, Sambit Patra, held crucial discussions with select BJP legislators in Imphal on February 10. However, the specifics of the meeting remain undisclosed, fueling speculation over potential leadership changes within the party.
When questioned by the media about any leadership transitions, Patra refrained from making any comments, leaving the focus of the discussions uncertain.
According to sources, Manipur’s security adviser, Kuldiep Singh, also met with Patra during his visit. Meanwhile, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (RD & PR), Yumnam Khemchand, addressed the media, emphasizing that any decision taken by the BJP high command must be adhered to. He reiterated that restoring normalcy in the state remains the primary concern.
Responding to queries about the ongoing ethnic conflict in Manipur, Khemchand assured that a reconciliation process between the warring communities is expected to commence soon.
