Manipur church leaders among three killed in Kangpokpi ambush

At least three people were killed and several others injured after suspected armed militants ambushed two vehicles in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Wednesday, May 13.

The attack reportedly took place between Kotzim and Kotlen villages, according to local sources.

Sources said the victims were church leaders travelling in two vehicles when armed assailants allegedly intercepted and opened fire on them.

The injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities, though the exact number of those wounded was not immediately confirmed.

Security forces have reportedly moved into the area and launched a search operation following the incident. Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the identities of the victims or the group behind the attack.
