Manipur Congress stages Tiranga Yatra in support of armed forces amid Operation Sindoor

The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) conducted a Tiranga Yatra to express solidarity with the Indian Armed Forces currently engaged in Operation Sindoor. The rally was a show of support following recent terror incidents, notably the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, claimed by the Pakistan-based group Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The approximately 4 km long procession began and ended at the Congress Bhavan, making a symbolic circuit via North AOC. Senior party leaders, including former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh, AICC member Gaikhangam, MPCC President Keisham Meghachandra, and former MP Thokchom Meinya, led the event. Party workers and citizens joined, waving the national flag in a public show of unity.

Speaking to the media during the event, Okram Ibobi Singh emphasised that the Tiranga Yatra was held under directives from the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to reaffirm support for India’s armed forces. He underlined that the Congress party strongly condemns terrorism and supports decisive action against terror networks.

He reiterated the party’s firm stance against terrorism and highlighted the importance of national unity during such critical times.

The event was marked by disciplined participation, patriotic slogans, and a strong message of national resilience.
