Manipur: Full state honours accorded to slain security personnel Wangkhem Somorjit

The Manipur government accorded full state honours to slain security personnel Wangkhem Somorjit who was killed during a gun attack by armed miscreants. 

The honour giving ceremony was attended by high-ranking police officers, security adviser Kuldip Singh, state ministers and MLAs.

Wangkhem Somorjit was a rifleman of 6th MR attached to Special Commando Moreh. He was a son of late Wangkhem Chaotom from Malom Mayai Leikai under Imphal West district. 

At the sidelines of the ceremony, works minister, Govindas Konthoujam condemned the tragic incident of Moreh at highest form. "This is the most cowardly act. We highly condemn the incident in which two security personnel lost their lives. We have already urged the Government of India to take action against these Kuki-Narco terrorists at the earliest so that peace and tranquility returns in the state", said Konthoujam while speaking to the media. 

With regards to the strengthening the security enforcement in the area, Konthoujam further added, "The government of Manipur has already arranged for the additional security for forces deployment in the Moreh area along with the central forces.
