Over 250 Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel took part in yoga and meditation sessions held in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on May 12 and 13, aimed at improving mental well-being and managing operational stress.
The sessions were conducted at C/112 Battalion CRPF, Motbung, and Brig. Thomas Ground, Kangpokpi, and included participants from 112 and 94 Bn CRPF, as well as E/131 Bn BSF.
Led by Assistant Professors Narinder Anand and Sweta Anand from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Kerala, the training combined theory and practical exercises focused on stress reduction and mental clarity—essential tools for personnel in high-stress roles.
Organised under the supervision of Ranjan Kumar Baruah, Commandant of 112 Bn CRPF, the event also saw the presence of Kangpokpi District’s IAS officer Hemant Kumar, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Umashankar Verma, and other senior officials.
Personnel expressed appreciation for the sessions, noting the positive impact on focus, resilience, and overall well-being. Organisers signalled that more such initiatives may follow to support the mental health of security forces in the region.
