Manipur: Kangpokpi's Oasis college illuminates campus spirit with ‘Chillax 25’

Oasis College, Kangpokpi, hosted its much-awaited annual festival “Chillax ’25” under the dynamic theme “Unleash the Spark.” The event, held amid enthusiasm and creative fervor, served as a platform for students to showcase their multifaceted talents while fostering camaraderie, social awareness, and cultural pride across the campus.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of Shokhongam Baite, MCS, ADM Kangpokpi, as the Chief Guest, alongside Dr Sheikhohao Kipgen, Principal of Presidency College, Motbung, and B. Lunthang Vaiphei, SDPO Saparmeina, as Guests of Honour. Mangkholet Haokip, Chief Manager of SBI Kangpokpi, presided as the Functional President.

The program commenced with a Welcome Address and Presentation by Anthony Touthang, followed by a soulful rendition of the Oasis Anthem by the Music Club. The Chief Guest then officially declared Chillax ’25 open, receiving a thunderous round of applause from the audience.

Delivering motivational addresses, the dignitaries highlighted the significance of harmonizing academics with creativity, social responsibility, and community engagement. The event also featured an Inaugural Prayer led by Pastor Necha Chongloi of Kangpokpi Christian Church and a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Ruth Nengneihling, Principal of Oasis College, who extended heartfelt appreciation to the organizing team, faculty, and students for their relentless efforts.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Shokhongam Baite lauded the college for conceptualizing Chillax as a space to “unleash hidden potential” among students, encouraging them to harness creativity as a force for positive change in society.

The festival’s diverse lineup of competitions and attractions included the Mukhti Marathon Challenge 2025, Chillax Idol – “Unleash Your Voice” (Western Solo Singing Competition), Cultural Dance and Cosplay Shows, Mobile Legends and BGMI Tournament, Chess, Spot/Face Painting, Pop-up Stalls and Food Corners, Essay Competitions, and Selfie Booth Contests, alongside a Free Sugar Test and Blood Grouping Camp.

Organizers emphasized that this year’s Chillax transcended entertainment, aiming to nurture youth leadership and innovation. “This is more than a race or a festival — it’s about igniting the spark within each individual to make a difference,” said the Event Convenor.

The festival also featured captivating cultural dance performances by troupes from various institutions across Kangpokpi, highlighting the region’s artistic richness and diversity.

Chillax ’25 was supported by a strong network of partners, including Oasis India, Department of Social Welfare (Government of Manipur), Punjab National Bank (PNB), IDBI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Touthang’s Infra, IRMA, MK, Envision More, and Annie’s Café, whose contributions were instrumental in ensuring the event’s success.

The celebration concluded with cheerful interactions, light refreshments, and jubilant faces — perfectly capturing the spirit of Chillax: a festival that inspires connection, creativity, and carefree joy, while staying true to Oasis College’s enduring vision to “Impart, Empower, and Transform.”
