Manipur legislators including Biren Singh heads to Delhi to push for formation of popular government

A team of Manipur legislators, including former Chief Minister Nongthombam Biren Singh, has left for New Delhi to hold discussions with central leaders regarding the formation of a popular government in the state.


On Saturday, October 4 Biren Singh was accompanied by former ministers Sapam Ranjan Singh and Heikham Dingo Singh, as well as MLA Tongbram Robindro Singh. Speaking to the media at Imphal Airport prior to his departure, the former Chief Minister said the purpose of the visit is to urge central leaders to expedite the process of forming a popular government in Manipur.


Biren Singh also mentioned that the delegation will deliberate on key issues affecting the state, particularly the ongoing crisis and the plight of internally displaced persons (IDPs). He emphasized the need for a comprehensive approach to restore normalcy and ensure stability in Manipur.
