The 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was marked with a spirited observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) in Kangpokpi, organized under the aegis of the District Administration. The commemoration included a "Run for Unity," which aimed to foster a sense of national unity and communal harmony.
The run saw enthusiastic participation from District Police, led by SP Kangpokpi, Manoj Prabhakar, along with CRPF personnel, students, and local youths. District Administration officials also took part, showcasing a strong sense of solidarity and commitment to the nation’s unity.
Flagged off at the SP Office in Kangpokpi by N. Shokhongam Baite, MCS, ADC/ADM Kangpokpi, the run traversed the scenic route along NH-2, reaching Daili before returning to culminate at Brig. M. Thomas Ground. The event concluded with a solemn pledge for unity and dedication to the nation, taken by all participants at the ground.
Among the notable officials present were Lamminlal Simte, MCS, Assistant Commissioner/SDO Champhai, and James Doujapao Haokip, MCS, CEO of the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council, alongside other dignitaries.
The event was a fitting tribute to Sardar Patel's legacy, reinforcing the values of unity and integrity that he embodied, inspiring participants to uphold the spirit of togetherness across the diverse communities in Kangpokpi.
