Manipur: Preparations underway for Lok Sabha Elections in Ukhrul district, says DC Kengoo Zuringla

As the Lok Sabha elections draw near, officials in Manipur's Ukhrul district are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process. Kengoo Zuringla, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ukhrul, provided insights into the ongoing arrangements stating the district's commitment to facilitating the democratic right of every citizen.

"We are getting all the polling personnel ready and distributing their Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs)," stated Zuringla. "We are distributing their polling materials. We already have the security arrangements for them," she added.

With a total of 145 polling stations in Ukhrul district, authorities are working to coordinate logistics and ensure the efficient functioning of each polling station. Zuringla expressed satisfaction in the district's ability to undertake such a significant exercise stating the fundamental principle of democratic representation.

"We are very happy that our Ukhrul district is able to conduct such an exercise to ensure that every person, every citizen of our country has the right to express, to be able to choose a leader which is of their own desire," remarked Zuringla. 

Highlighting the diversity of choices available to voters, Zuringla noted, "This time, we have four candidates from the outer Manipur parliamentary constituency,".
