            <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>Rajya Sabha MP Sarda Devi on September 8 visited the family of deceased Manipuri musician Chongtham Vikram at Lourung Purel Leikai in Thangmeiband, Imphal West, and offered her condolences.</p>

<p>Sarda Devi met Vikram’s grieving parents, 96-year-old Chongtham Birendrakumar, a retired veterinary doctor, and his 86-year-old mother, Chongtham Ongbi Kamala.</p>

<p>Kamala was a well-known singer in Manipur and also served as a senior announcer with All India Radio.</p>

<p>The BJP MP expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and shared their grief over Vikram’s death. She was accompanied by BJP leaders and party workers during the visit.</p>

<p>Vikram, a 54-year-old musician from Manipur, died in Delhi after he was allegedly assaulted by a group of delivery workers and dhaba staff outside his residence in Kilokari on September 7. Delhi Police have arrested seven men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the case.</p>
