Bus services from Imphal to Senapati district via Kangpokpi district and from Imphal to Churachandpur district via Bishnupur district resumed on March 8, today.
The buses departed from Imphal airport at 9 am.
Free movement of people across all routes in the state also resumed today after Union Home Minister Amit Shah had instructed officials to ensure the same.
In a statement, chief secretary PK Singh had informed that state transport buses will travel under the escort of Central Armed Police Forces to "alleviate public inconveniences and as an initiative towards bringing normalcy in the state" it said.
Helicopter services from Imphal to Churachandpur and back will begin on March 12.
The statement warned that anyone found disturbing the movement of buses will be prosecuted under relevant laws.
The Manipur State Transport (MST) buses, operating under CAPF escort commences services on the following routes:
Imphal - Kangpokpi - Senapati
Senapati - Kangpokpi - Imphal
Imphal - Bishnupur - Churachandpur
Churachandpur - Bishnupur - Imphal
Manipur Heli Services will begin operations from March 12, 2025 on the following days:
- Wednesdays (Imphal - Churachandpur)
Operating between 11:20 AM to 3:50 PM
- Saturdays (Multiple Routes)
Imphal - Churachandpur
Imphal - Ukhrul
Operating from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
In December, 2024, the state government’s attempt to resume public bus services from Imphal to Kangpokpi and Churachandpur failed when no passengers showed up at the Manipur State Transport (MST) station in Moirangkhom, Imphal.
