Manipur: Woman found dead in relief camp in Imphal West

A 20-year-old woman, identified as Sukham Chanu Devi, died by suicide at a relief camp in Imphal West on January 7.

Chanu, originally from Singhat in Churachandpur district, had been married for just four months to Sukham James. The couple had been staying at the Mekola Higher Secondary School relief camp along with two other family members.

Chanu was found hanging near her bed around 4:15 pm, reportedly when her husband was away at work.

Police have confirmed that her body has been sent to JNIMS morgue for post-mortem, and a case has been registered by Nambol police.
