Manipur's BOSEM declares HSLC 2026 results; pass percentage reaches 88.74%

Board of Secondary Education, Manipur, on May 8 declared the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 88.74 per cent.

Speaking at the result declaration function, Ningthoujam Geoffrey congratulated all successful students and described the achievement as an important milestone toward higher education and future opportunities.

According to official figures, a total of 36,579 students appeared for the examination this year, out of which 32,459 students cleared the exam.

Among female candidates, 18,296 students appeared, and 16,206 passed the examination. In the male category, 18,283 students appeared, with 16,253 students successfully clearing the HSLC examination.

Geoffrey said Manipur had adopted the grading system two years ago in line with the Central Board of Secondary Education pattern, which is widely accepted across the country. He stated that the grading system helps reduce unhealthy competition and academic pressure among students and is also aligned with the objectives of the National Education Policy.

Highlighting the benefits of the system, the Education Commissioner said the Manipur government has now decided to introduce the grading pattern for Class 12 examinations as well. He added that the proposal was discussed during the cabinet meeting held on Thursday and that the new system would be implemented soon.
