Students storm Manipur Governor's office, replace flag at DC Office in Thoubal

Students in Manipur intensified their protests today by attacking key government buildings. They stormed the Raj Bhawan and the Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Thoubal.

Earlier in the day, students from various schools and colleges flooded the streets of Imphal, demanding significant changes to the state's security management. Their primary grievances include the removal of the current Security Adviser and the transfer of the Unified Command from central to state control. The protesters argue that local authorities should take charge of security operations to better address the ongoing crisis affecting their communities.

The students’ protest strategy included an attempted storming of the Chief Minister’s residence and a sit-in outside the Raj Bhawan.
