JONATHAN N SANGMA HAD THREAT FROM MILITANT GROUPS

In the case of killing of NCP candidate Jonathan N Sangma it has come to light that the assailants had pasted posters throughout Garo Hills that whosoever votes for Jonathan will get killed. Still Jonathon did not adhere to the threat and did not seek any special security for him.

It may be mentioned that Nationalist Congress Party candidate Jonathan N Sangma has been reportedly shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Samanda in East Garo Hills in Meghalaya. Sangma was reportedly shot at around 7.50 pm when he was returning home. Two PSO’s of Sangma received serious injuries in the attack.

Proscribed Garo National Liberation Army(GNLA) is active in the area. It can be assumed that it could be the handiwork of the GNLA.
