The Meghalaya office of BSNL said Good Friday will be a holiday for all employees, revoking its earlier notification which had declared March 30 as a working day. State Home Minister James K Sangma said BSNL has revised its order, ensuring that Good Friday will not be a working day, even for the accounts and customer service sections. Good Friday falls on March 30 and was declared as a state holiday by the government of Meghalaya. Stating that the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 is applicable to all, Sangma said the Act clearly mentions any holiday declared by the state government will also be binding on offices under the Central government.
