Expressing his criticism for the Congress’ boycott of Meghalaya Governor Tathagata Roy’s speech, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma called it ‘unconstitutional’ and an ‘insult’ to the Governor’s Chair.
Addressing the media, Sangma said that the conduct of the Congress was ‘inappropriate’ as it is the first time such an act has been done.
It is to be mentioned that the Congress had walked out in protest to Roy’s controversial Tweet in which he asked people to boycott Kashmiri goods in the wake of the Pulwama attack in Kashmir.
“You could be disagreeing with a certain individual’s comment but here, it’s not about Tathagata Roy but it’s about the Governor of Meghalaya,” added. Sangma has also declined to comment on the Tweet and added that it was Roy’s personal opinion.
