Selsella: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday campaigned for the incumbent CEM of GHADC Dipul Marak at Garobadha, Selsella, and Kalchenpara. Marak is seeking reelection from the Rochonpara GHADC constituency.
Terming Dipul as a "hardcore loyalist", Sangma appealed to electorates to give their mandate to the NPP candidate. "Marak is a hardcore NPP loyalist who has the caliber and leadership quality to work for the grassroots," said Sangma.
“Dipul Marak had closely worked with our founder leader the late P A Sangma and dedicated himself to the party and the interest of the people. He has been tirelessly working to reform council and he deserves to be re-elected,' Sangma said, adding that Marak "is an able and disciplined leader who knows his responsibility towards the society."

Speaking at the rally, Marak on his part sought re-election on the ground that a number of initiatives were taken under his leadership to reform the council, including the abolition of ghost employees.
The elections to the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) will be held on April 9 and counting will take place on April 14. The GHADC has 30 members – 29 elected and one member nominated by the Governor.
The filing of nomination papers by the contesting candidates began on March 8 and the last date for filing of nominations was March 15. The scrutiny of nominations was held on March 15, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature was March 19.
