Dalmia Cement Donates Rs 50 Lakh to Flood Victims in Meghalayadalmia

Shillong, July 21, 2019:

One of the leading cement suppliers of India, Dalmia Cement, has donated a sum of Rs. 50 lakh to the flood-hit victims of the Northeastern state of Meghalaya.

This was announced by Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Twitter, who wrote: "Thank you Dalmia Cement for your contribution of ₹50 lakh for Meghalaya flood. We appreciate your gesture, your contribution will help us rebuild lives of our people."

Earlier, the Meghalaya Chief Minister had urged people to donate funds to alleviate the flood situation in Meghalaya's West Garo Hills district, which has been hit worst by the floods.

Noted actress Seema Biswas has joined the list of celebrities who have donated funds for the flood-affected people of Assam. She has joined the likes of Hima Das, filmmaker Rima Das, cricketer Riyan Parag, actor Jatin Bora, among others, who have donated funds for the flood-stricken.
