The fate of former Bangladeshi Minister who had entered India illegally in May 2015 continues to hang in balance as a court hearing his case reserved its judgement on Monday.
Sources said, though the court of first class judicial magistrate DG Kharshiing here was scheduled to deliver its judgement, it later refrained.
Salahuddin Ahmed, a close associate of then Bangladeshi Prime Minister and Bangladesh Nationalist Party general secretary, was picked up from Pynthorumkhrah area here after he was mysteriously found loitering there.
The police had arrested him and booked under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act as he could not produce any travel documents.
Ahmed had claimed that he was abducted by some unidentified persons in Bangladesh, blindfolded and then dumped near the State Capital.
Though granted bail subsequently, the former Bangladeshi Minister has been barred from leaving Shillong and is reportedly under the custody of a Central intelligence agency now.
