Results of the by-elections to Ranikor and South Tura Assembly constituencies in Meghalaya are expected to be out by Monday evening. The by-polls were held on Thursday.
And with this, the fate of Conrad Sangma as Chief Minister will be known as he is contesting from South Tura to get elected to the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
His sister Agatha Sangma resigned after winning the seat in the Assembly election held in February this year to enable her brother Conrad get elected.
In Ranikor, polling became necessary as Martin M Danggo, who was elected on a Congress ticket in the Assembly election, resigned to shift allegiance to the ruling National People’s Party.
