SHILLONG: The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday airlifted oxygen supplies to Meghalaya from various parts of the country.
A total of 20 Oxygen Ventilators, 15 Concentrators and 30 Oxygen Cylinders were air lifted by the IAF from Vizag.
Apart from this consignment, the IAF has also airlifted a total of 500 Oxygen cylinders from Ahmedabad to aid the state in combating COVID-19.

Both the consignments have reached Guwahati and are currently being taken to Shillong, stated Chief Minister Conrad Sangma.
In view of the rising cases of COVID-19, the state government on Friday decided to extend the ongoing lockdown in the East Khasi hills district till June 7.
Making the announcement, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma informed that there will be certain relaxations and containment measures during the lockdown.
Meghalaya, so far, has recorded a total of 33835 cases of COVID-19 with 8025 active cases. A total of 25366 patients have recovered while 544 people succumbed to the virus.
