Days after the killing of NCP candidate from Williamnagar Jonathone N Sangma in an IED blast, security forces recovered yet another IED at Nengmandalgre village in Williamnagar. The police suspects that the IED was planted by Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA). Security forces later diffused the IED.
It may be mentioned that the GNLA has been leasing a reign of terror in the Garo Hills for a decade. The GNLA has been threatening the people of Garo hills to desist from voting for candidates who are on their hit list. The GNLA is also suspected behind the killing of Jonathane N Sangma along with three others on Sunday.
