Locals of Meghalaya Mocks Family from Assam for Littering in Street

Guwahati, July 26, 2019:

At the time when the rest of the people are complaining over garbage dumps is not maintained by the department authorities, the locals of Meghalaya have show alertness on the issue of garbage dumping and pollution.

A video surfaced on the social media posted by a resident of Meghalaya in which a family travelling in a car bearing the Assam’s registration happened to throw some garbage by the roadside was caught red-handed the locals.

The video posted by Lam Lynrah captioned it as “Do not litter in Shillong now...you'll be caught by surprise and fined heavily!!! Kudos to the brave guys who take the bold steps, ‘Khun Ka RI’,”

The man who threw the garbage was bound to pick it up and take back with them.

The man in the video is seen apologizing for his action and kept saying that he would throw it somewhere else. Whereas on the other side, the one who was recording the video said there are dustbins in the path.

Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched Swachh Abhiyan across the country, the action of these people turns to be the reason behind the failure of the efforts. But such a bold move of the locals of Meghalaya has made a set example of the real dedication of keeping their environment clean and safe.
