Meghalaya: 43 COVID-19 cases reported from Raj Bhavan

SHILLONG: The total tally of active COVID-19 cases in Shillong Raj Bhavan has risen to 43, officials said on Sunday.

A mass testing was organized on May 28 for the high risk contacts of COVID-19 positive cases in the Raj Bhavan.

Out of the 80 samples tested on May 28, 25 people tested positive. As many as 18 had earlier tested positive on May 24.

This takes the total figure of positive cases among staff and family members to 43.

Reportedly, there 10 children below the age of 15 years among the 43 people who tested positive and three with co-morbodities.

Secretary to the Governor, Pravin Bakshi in a report said that the second wave of COVID-19 has been challenging for the Raj Bhavan. A month back, there were 28 positive cases. Out these, 23 have recovered so far.

Meghalaya, so far, has recorded 35932 cases of COVID-19 with 7496 active cases. A total of 28104 patients have recovered while the fatalities stand at 577.
