Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on May 23 expressed gratitude to Dharmendra Pradhan for facilitating the inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the CBSE R3 framework.

On behalf of the people of Meghalaya, the Chief Minister thanked the Union Education Minister for his “swift intervention” in enabling the inclusion of the two indigenous languages.

Sangma said the move would significantly benefit students, reduce challenges faced by schools, support language teachers and strengthen the preservation of Meghalaya’s rich linguistic heritage.

Describing it as more than just a milestone, the Meghalaya Chief Minister said the decision reflects a shared commitment towards building an inclusive education system that respects and promotes every linguistic identity.
