SHILLONG: Amidst unrest in Shillong, the convoy of Meghalaya Governor was attacked in Mawlai area of Shillong on Tuesday evening.
The escort vehicles of Governor Satya Pal Malik were attacked on the highway in Shillong’s Mawlai during curfew hours while it was coming back after dropping the Governor in the airport.
Unknown miscreants pelted stones at the vehicles partially damaging a few.

A few vehicles were reportedly damaged as unknown miscreants’ pelted stones on them.
Reportedly, a formal complaint is likely to be filed with the East Khasi Hills district administration on Wednesday.
Violence erupted in Mawlai and Jaiaw areas of Shillong on Independence Day during the funeral procession of a former militant, who was killed in a recent police encounter, prompting the administration to clamp curfew in the state capital and withdraw mobile internet services in at least four districts.
