SHILLONG: In the wake of the current COVID-19 situation, East Khasi Hills's lockdown has been extended by a week, said state chief minister Conrad K Sangma.
The lockdown imposed in the district on May 5 was supposed to end on May 10 at 5 am, but it has now been extended for another week till 5 am on May 17.
However, few restrictions will be lifted during the period, said CM Sangma.

Making the announcement The chief minister wrote on Twitter, "Govt. has decided to continue the
class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> in class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> district till 5AM of 17th May 2021. However, few restrictions will be lifted during the period."The move was taken after reviewing the COVID situation in the district.
"The government will review the situation on Saturday and take the next step,” CM Sangma said earlier.
