Agatha Sangma, the MP from Tura in Meghalaya, officially got hitched today to Patrick S R Marak during a glittering wedding ceremony in her hometown.
The wedding was attended by the who's who of Northeast India and saw noteworthy personalities such as Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, among several other Manipur's Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar, attend Agatha's big-day. The

The wedding ceremony took at the Sacred Heart Shrine in Tura, and has been attended by many key dignitaries from the state, including Assam Minister Biswa Sarma, as well as soccer superstar Bhaichung Bhutia.
Earlier, Agatha's brother, the Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, along with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, was seen paying tribute to his father, the late PA Sangma, on the day of his sister Agatha Sangma’s wedding.
Posting pictures from the wedding on Twitter, Sangma wrote, "Here comes our bride! It is an extremely emotional moment to see our sister walking down the aisle today. Our Papa would be so proud."

It may be mentioned here that the 39-year-old Agatha, who is the daughter of the late PA Sangma, the founder of the National People's Party (NPP), had the distinction of being the youngest Minister of State in the UPA 2nd Manmohan Singh Cabinet.
Earlier this year, she won the election from the Tura Constituency by defeating Congress' heavyweight and former Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Mukul Sangma, by a considerable margin.
