In the latest development in Meghalaya’s Ksan Coal Mine tragedy, the body of a trapped miner has been detected floating 210 feet deep in the rat-hole.
The body has been detected by a joint team of Indian Navy divers and NDRF personnel using the Under Water Remotely Operated Vehicle (UWROV) and has been pulled up to 160 feet of the mine.
It may be mentioned that on December 13 a total of 15 miners were trapped in the rat-hole of the Meghalaya, also known as the land of poison. The joint rescue operation is still going on and over two hundred personnel of the NDRF, Indian Navy, Odisha Fire Services as well as of private company Kisloskar are undertaking the rescue operation.
