SHILLONG: The Oxygen generation plant of 270 Litres Per Minute (LPM) capacity will be operational for commissioning in the next 24 hours at Shillong Civil Hospital in East Khasi Hills, said state chief minister Conrad Sangma.

The Plant will be operational in the next 24 Hrs and can support 25 beds with high flow oxygen," the chief minister tweeted.Around 98 percent of the work, including installation, has been completed, and the facility, which can accommodate 25 beds with high flow oxygen, will be commissioned in the next 24 hours.
CM Sangma inspected the hospital's ongoing construction this afternoon. He also held a review meeting at the hospital, thanking the hospital's physicians, nurses, and employees for their committed and concerted service to the state's people.

Sangma said that the government is making every effort to ensure that the district administration is taking appropriate Management and Control steps in light of the current COVID-19 situation.
Currently, the state has 4534 active cases, so the government has placed a lockdown in the East Khasi Hills and strict containment measures in the rest of the state.
Regarding treatment facilities, CM Sangma said that across the state the districts have a dedicated COVID management system.
