POLLING STATION IN MEGHALAYA SANS SECURITY PERSONNEL

An aberration or a major blunder was witnessed today in Meghalaya when not even a single security personnel were present when the polling process began at 7 am. The 49 Dadenggre polling station in Garo hills did not have a single security personnel either from the CRPF or Meghalaya police. The polling station is 56 kms from Tura and about 150 kms from the International Bangladesh border.

What has come as a surprise is that the Delta company of the CRPF is stationed just nearby to the polling station. The polling station lies in a sensitive zone in the wake of the killing of NCP candidate in an IED blast on February 24. In the absence of any security personnel, incidents like rigging cannot be ruled out.
