Urban Minister Hamletson Dohling in a statement said that the dispute in the border area in West Khasi Hills is a 46 years old deal and can not be solved within a short span of time.
The statement was passed during his visit to Langpih, where people appealed the minister to work on the development in the area for the betterment of the border residents.
The minister further added that based from the status quo the government of both Meghalaya and Assam can bring development in those villages. Dohling also said that the Police camp needs to be upgraded to a Police Outpost.
