Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on April 27 conducted an inspection of ongoing construction projects in Tura, including the Tura Medical College at Doldegre, the Tura Youth Convention Center, and the Track and Field Stadium.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress of the construction work at the Track and Field Stadium, Sangma said he was excited to see upcoming sports infrastructure develop for the benefit of the youth. Similarly, he expressed happiness over the progress made at the Tura Youth Convention Center, and said he looked forward to its completion in another year and a half.
However, Sangma noted that the pace of construction at the Tura Medical College was slow, and he directed the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills to hold regular reviews with the construction company and ensure that the college is completed within the next year.
The inspection was conducted in the presence of officials from the health department, the Deputy Commissioner of West Garo Hills, and officials from the construction company. Sangma urged everyone involved to work towards the timely completion of these projects that are aimed at providing better infrastructure and opportunities to the people of Meghalaya.
