Meghalaya: Family mourns promising student Walinda Binong's death, disputes suicide claim

Shillong was filled with grief and sorrow as the family of Walinda Binong performed her last rites at Marngar village on Monday. The 19-year-old was pursuing fashion designing at the School of Design under Mody University in Rajasthan. Unfortunately, she was found dead in her hostel room on April 29.

The Rajasthan authorities conducted a post-mortem and reported the cause of death to be suicide. However, the family members expressed disbelief at the news, stating that Binong was a promising student who excelled in her studies and was due to receive a prize from the college.

The family members are now seeking a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Binong's death.
