Strict action against illegal infiltration essential to protect India’s territorial integrity: Meghalaya MP James Sangma
Meghalaya Rajya Sabha MP James Sangma has stressed the need for strict measures against illegal infiltration, stating that protection of India’s territorial integrity must remain a top priority under all circumstances.
Reacting to concerns over alleged infiltration attempts along the India-Bangladesh border, Sangma said that such activities are a matter of serious concern and require continuous vigilance by the concerned authorities.
Speaking to journalists, Sangma referred to the reported tension between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in the Nandirchar area of South West Garo Hills district following an incident involving an alleged Bangladeshi national.
He said that government agencies responsible for border security are already monitoring the situation and taking necessary steps to address such issues.
Sangma stated that, as a Member of Parliament, he fully supports the measures being undertaken by the Government of India in matters related to national security. He added that he is ready to take up any responsibility assigned to him in safeguarding the country’s interests.
Reiterating the importance of border protection, the Rajya Sabha MP said that securing the nation’s boundaries and preserving its territorial integrity should remain a collective priority.
