In a joint operation, Assam Rifles and Customs Department recovered eight foreign-made rifles from near the Indo-Myanmar on Thursday.
According to reports, the weapons were found at a location north of the Friendship Bridge at Zokhawthar in Mizoram’s Champhai district.
Two suspects, however, managed to flee from the location.
The seizures include two US-made 5.56 mm M-16 rifles, two German-made 7.62mm G-3 rifles and four Myanmar-made 5.56mm MA3 assault rifles.
