Foreign-origin cigarettes worth Rs 68 lakhs seized in Mizoram's Champhai

AIZAWL: Troops of Assam Rifles today recovered 52 Cases of Foreign-origin cigarettes from the general area of Hnahlan, Champhai district of Mizoram.

The contraband Foreign-origin cigarettes were recovered during an operation conducted carried out by the Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles based on specific information.

The approximate cost of the seized foreign-origin cigarettes is estimated to be around Rs 68 lakhs.

The recovered contraband cigarettes were handed over to the Customs department for a further legal proceeding.
