CHAMPHAI: An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale jolted Mizoram on Saturday near the India-Myanmar border. This is the latest in a series of quakes that have been felt in the Northeast Indian region.
The epicenter of the earthquake was in Champhai district of the state, which has been jolted by a series of quakes over the past few months.

The National Centre for Seismology (NCS), a unit of the Ministry of Earth Sciences has disclosed that the tremors were felt at 2:20 pm at the depth of 30 kms.
There have been no immediate reports of injuries or damage to property as a result of the quake.
