AIZAWL: Now for some positive news from Northeast India's Mizoram. Mizo girl Lalmuansangi Varte hailing from Champhai district has been chosen among 31 state winners of VLCC Femina Miss India 2020 to represent Mizoram in the national-level beauty pageant.
Interestingly, this Mizo beauty queen has been battling heart disease ever since she was a child and also suffers from dyslexia -- a learning disability. However, she continued to persevere to achieve her dream in spite of suffering from the serious nature of her disability.
According to reports, she had to fight for several years before she could finally overcome her disability. She has also informed that she was inspired by a teacher who inspired her to continue fighting.
The Mizo beauty queen wants to become a teacher herself so that she could be an inspiration and hope to those who face the same problem as she once did.
Varte overcame the challenge from Celina Chakma in the online interview held on Sunday. The results were declared by the Miss India Organisation on Sunday.
5.6 feet tall Varte was born and raised in Champhai in the eastern part of Mizoram bordering Myanmar.
It needs mention here that the beauty queen won the second runner-up title in Miss Mizoram 2020 and has been selected by Miss Mizoram Organisation to represent Mizoram in the Femina Miss India pageant. She completed her master’s degree in English literature and is currently a trainee teacher pursuing her degree in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) at Mizoram University.
