As the online examination for undergraduate course under Mizoram University began from Tuesday, some students from Mawhrei village had to undertake a long journey, full of hiccups, to appear for their papers.

Students from Mawhrei Village under Siaha District have to walk at least 5 kms from their village and climb hills to reach the only spot with internet signal to appear for the examination.

The students, with the help of some locals, somehow managed to build a shed so that they could write  their exams under any weather condition.

As many as 11 students, 8 male and 3 female are appearing for the examination while going through such hardships.

Even through Jio and Airtel services are available in the village, the connectivity is poor. Airtel service is better in an adjoining area, said Mr. Vabeihruasa, an ex-student leader of the village.
