Sources said that the Assam Police have demanded for the hand over of the bridge equipments at Zophai, Bairabi.
Mizo Zirlai Pawl, Bairabi branch has just issued a notification that if Laldintluanga is not released by 4 pm today, they will ban all Assam vehicles from entering Zophai, Mizoram.
They have also requested all non locals to stay indoors.
It's worth noting that the Mizoram government had previously filed a "theft case" against Assam officials, accusing them of seizing construction materials from the Zophai bridge construction site, but the case was later withdrawn once the stolen equipment was turned over to the state police.
