AIZAWL: Mizoram on Monday recorded five new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of active cases in the state now stands at 186.
With the new recorded cases, the total number of positive cases of Coronavirus rose to 4040. According to the state medical bulletin, the recovery rate has improved to 95.20 per cent.
In Mizoram, active cases of Covid-19 infections are continuously declining. So far 3,847 have recovered including 8 patients recovered on Sunday.
Although the state government has taken a slew of measures, including the “Covid-19 No Tolerance Lockdown” to break the chain of transmission, new cases are still being detected in the state.

The lockdown that was imposed across Mizoram on October 30 will be lifted on January 10 next year.
The state government had recently appealed to all churches to celebrate Christmas in a low-key manner and refrain from organizing community feasts as there is a chance of the transmission of the virus at a rapid pace in public gatherings.
