The National People's Party (NPP) has announced that it will contest for at least eight seats in the upcoming Mizoram Assembly Elections.
Party national secretary Lalrina said that the NPP candidates have planned to file their nominations on Friday.
Former parliamentary secretary Hmingdailova Khiangte would be NPP’s candidate for Tuirial seat in Kolasib district. He joined NPP after he was denied a ticket for candidature from the Congress.
NPP state unit convener Lianzuala will contest from the Dampa constituency and B Suanzalang will contest from Champhai North seat.
Former president of the Hmar People’s Convention (HPC), Hmingchungnunga will contest for the Serlui seat, while journalist Kapliana Pachuau will be contesting from the Serchhip seat against Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla and Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) Chief Ministerial candidate Lalduhoma.
NPP will also field some new faces such as John Lalremruata, Lalhuliana and DD Chakma from Kolasib, Thorang and Tuichawng seats.
