The Mizo National Front (MNF) Headquarters organized a spirited two-wheeler rally on September 19 in the heart of Aizawl. The event, held to mark Martyr Day, witnessed a significant turnout of enthusiastic participants and prominent leaders.
The rally was inaugurated by Dr. L. Thangmawia, President of the Mizo National Youth Front, at the AMC Office in Thuampui. As the rally came to a close, Deputy Chief Minister of Mizoram, Pu Tawnluia, delivered an impassioned speech in front of Vanapa Hall. It's noteworthy that Deputy Chief Minister Tawnluia had previously served as the Army Chief during the independence movement.
In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Tawnluia stated the commitment of the Mizo National Front to the cause of independence. He underlined that various stakeholders, including churches, political parties, and community organizations, are tirelessly striving to usher in a lasting peace. He lauded the recent Peace Accord signed by the Mizo National Front as a significant milestone in fulfilling the aspirations of the Mizo people.
Despite limited support from the Indian government, Deputy Chief Minister Tawnluia affirmed the state administration's dedicated efforts to assist refugees. He stated the importance of ensuring the well-being of those affected by the conflict.
Dr. L. Thangmawia, President of the Mizo National Front Youth, recounted the sacrifices made during the independence movement that commenced in 1960. He highlighted that numerous lives were lost in the relentless pursuit of Mizo Nation's independence.
