Mizoram: Biker has narrow escape as rocks fall down during landslide

A motorcycle-borne man had a narrow escape in Mizoram after rocks fell down from the hillside as he was passing by. 

The incident happened today at the Ngaizel area of Aizawl at around 2 pm. The incident occurred while the biker was riding along a route prone to landslides. Fortunately, the rider managed to evade the falling rocks and escape unharmed.

The area is also close to a bus station, and the falling rocks have reportedly damaged the windows offour buses. 

Rainfall over the past few days has increased the risk of landslide in areas like this. Even if not large swathes of land and soil falling down from the hillside, rocks falling down from slippery hillsides pose a serious threat to commuters and passers by in areas like these.
