A grand reception was held at Kamalanagar, the headquarters of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), to welcome the newly appointed Chief Executive Member (CEM), Molin Kumar Chakma, following his return from Aizawl. He was accompanied by BJP’s CADC District President Durjya Dhan Chakma, MDC Amit Bayan Chakma, and other party leaders.
Molin Kumar Chakma's appointment was officially sanctioned by the Hon’ble Governor of Mizoram on January 31, 2025. The order was issued by the Secretary of District Council & Minority Affairs, Government of Mizoram. This appointment marks a historic milestone for CADC as it becomes the first BJP-led administration with an absolute majority. The formation of the new government was made possible following the joining of Members of District Council (MDCs) from the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) and the Mizo National Front (MNF) into the BJP.
The reception witnessed an overwhelming turnout of BJP karyakartas who gathered to celebrate this significant political shift. Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, Molin Kumar Chakma assured that his administration would focus on providing a stable and development-driven government. He emphasized that good governance, infrastructure growth, and prosperity for CADC would be the top priorities under BJP’s leadership. He also pledged to work in close cooperation with the party and his fellow MDCs, expressing confidence in the guidance of CADC BJP District President Shri Durjya Dhan Chakma, State BJP President Shri Vanlalhmuaka Ji, and Central BJP leaders.
Durjya Dhan Chakma, in his address, reaffirmed that the MDCs who joined from ZPM and MNF have placed their trust in the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP National President J.P. Nadda. He called for unity among MDCs to ensure a stable and effective government, emphasizing that political stability is crucial for CADC’s overall development. He also extended his congratulations to Molin Kumar Chakma, expressing confidence in his leadership to steer CADC towards a new era of progress.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Hon’ble CEM is scheduled for Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
