H. Mankimi, a dedicated nurse from Mizoram, has been awarded the National Florence Nightingale Award 2024 in a distinguished ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The award was presented by President Droupadi Murmu, highlighting Mankimi's exceptional contributions to the nursing profession.
Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma expressed pride and congratulations, stating, “Congratulations to Pi H. Mankimi, wife of Pu R. Sanghmingthanga, IOC, Serchhip for receiving the prestigious National Florence Nightingale Award 2024. Proud to have her from my constituency, Serchhip!”
The National Florence Nightingale Awards, established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, aim to recognize extraordinary services provided by nursing professionals across India and honor the legacy of Florence Nightingale, the pioneering British nurse. These awards not only celebrate the achievements of nurses but also motivate them to strive for excellence, enhance awareness of their critical role, and set benchmarks for quality nursing care nationwide.
The 2024 award ceremony, presided over by President Murmu, took place at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and honored nursing professionals in three categories: ANM (Auxiliary Nurse Midwife), LHV (Lady Health Visitor), and Nurse.
