Nagaland state is all set for the 1st phase of Lok Sabha poll tomorrow where a total number of 12,13,777 voters will be exercising their franchise from 2,227 polling station in 60 Assembly constituencies. Along with the LS Poll, 26 Aonglenden Assembly Constituency under Mokokchung district will be going for by-election simultaneously.
Under Kohima district, a total number of 226 polling parties have been dispatched today for the conduct of 2019 Lok Sabha Election from the DC office at Kohima. Altogether 1,42,842 voters will be casting their votes in different polling stations under Kohima district, out of 226 Polling stations, 26 polling stations will be manned by all women polling parties.
Electoral Registration Officer Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, informed that there are 34 sector magistrates assigned to different Polling stations under Kohima which has 7 assembly constituencies. 700 vehicles have been dispatched and more security has been deployed to some critical and vulnerable polling stations under Kohima. As per the guidelines of ECI, voters have to produce their identification cards besides voters' slips.
Four candidates from INC, NDPP, NPP and IND parties are in the fray for the lone Lok Sabha seat from the state while it will be a straight fight between INC and NDPP candidates for the by-election. Till today, a sum of ₹92,26,640 cash has been siezed while the total Seizure report of liquor is 65,400 litres.
